Venice Airport – Connections

Venice Transfer Airport: the best way to travel from and to Venice Airport.

Those arriving in Venice for the first time can be surprised that the only way to explore the city is on foot. There are no automobiles, taxis, buses and motorbikes, and Piazzale Roma is the last place in Venice accessible to motor vehicles.

One of the most remarkable things to those visiting Venice is the pleasure of strolling through Calli and Campi, without traffic. Venice can be fully explored in two hours.

If you need a faster way to cross the city, you can take the water bus, a water taxi or enjoy a romantic ride on a traditional gondola!

Venice water taxis are the less cheap yet most functional solution. On a water taxi you can carry all your luggage and reach every part of the city.

Gondolas are generally not used to move from one place to another or reach your hotel with your luggage. A ride on a gondola is the perfect way to enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the city, the magic of this rowing boat and have a wonderful time!

Water taxi in details

As already mentioned, water taxis in Venice are the most expensive way to cross the city. Water taxis are way more expensive than water buses:

Water buses cost €6,50 per person, whereas a water taxi cost €60 and can accommodate up to 4 passengers with luggage.

However, the cost of a water taxi is not so exorbitant if you consider the speed, luxury and comfort of your transfer, especially from Venice Airport to your hotel.

Gondola

On a gondola you can enjoy romance, atmosphere and the opportunity of exploring the Venetian canals not accessible by water taxis. The comparison with water taxis is not in economic terms but rather in emotional terms. The choice is a matter of taste and a ride on a gondola relates to purely touristic aspects, whereas water taxis are the most effective wat to move from one place to another in the city of Venice.
